AB  - Lichens with cyanobacterial photobionts are called cyanolichens. The main purpose of this research is to study the cyanolichens of the southern part of Central Alborz protected region. This region is located in the north of Tehran between Tehran and Mazandaran provinces. Specimens were collected by the first author during several field trips in winter times in this region and were identified according to present keys. There were 7 species ofcyanolichens identified from this region from which 1 species is new for Iran. Also all of these species are reported for the first time from Alborz region. The species include: <I>Collema cristatum</I>, <I>Collema fuscovirens</I>, <I>Collema polycarpon</I>,<I> Thyrea confusa</I>, <I>Thyrea girardii</I>, <I>Thyrea plicatissima </I>and <I>Peccania cerebriformis </I>which is new for Iran.
